You outsource the tasks that you need help with while you focus on what you’re best at. There’s really nothing you can’t outsource be it copywriters, designers, developers, customer service representatives, even project managers and more.

Outsourcing can be beneficial or detrimental to your business.

If you outsource the task to the wrong person, you’re causing more harm than good to your business.

But if you outsource the tasks you’re not great at, or tasks that take up time that keep you from the things you’re amazing at, to the right person, that’s a winning formula.

Nail the outsourcing game and you’re golden. Screw it up, and you’re up for a long process of hiring, training, firing, re-hiring, and re-training.

Never rush the outsourcing process if you want to avoid making a massive mistake that doesn’t only cost you your time but also your money.

There are a few things to consider when you’re trying to hire virtual assistants and empower your virtual team.

You want to hire a person who has complementary skills to you, however, you NEVER hire someone who has the exact same skill sets as you.


Because you need to have a dynamic team, able to bring different skills to the table, creating a balance behind the scenes of your business.

You need to learn how to focus on your strengths instead of your weaknesses.

Do what you’re best at, what’s within your unfair advantage, your DNA, and hire on people to take on additional tasks that wouldn’t end up being a good use of your time.

If you aren’t a detail-oriented person, hire someone who’s meticulous and all about the details.

The goal is for you to exploit your strengths and put your time and energy into what you’re great at and build a team around the remaining needs of your business.

If you don’t have a background in design and development, hire a graphic designer or someone who will fill the role of website development.

If the layout of your website looks weird or you just don’t have an eye for design, your site will look awkward and possibly inappropriate for the message you're trying to convey.

You cannot be replaced in a successful video marketing or email marketing strategy. But, coding, making images, and repeated tasks like posting blogs can and should be outsourced.

Outsourcing Customer Service

Ahhhh, customer support!

Once we began growing our business with Facebook advertising this brought much more on to my plate. Prior to this we were only doing a blog, organic facebook marketing and Pinterest marketing.

Learning how to advertise on Facebook and all of those steps meant we needed to outsource our customer support.

We went to hire a full-time virtual assistant on that could reply to emails, integrate members from our membership funnel to our private Facebook group, handle billing problems and more!

This kept Melanie writing content, me in the project management seat with her content and our web designer, me on the Facebook advertising game, and all of the support stuff was able to be taken off of my plate.

Outsourcing Your Content

When it comes to copywriters, bloggers, and content writers, you need to be a bit more careful when outsourcing these types of tasks.

If you’re an American, hire American content writers. I don’t recommend hiring someone whose first language isn’t English because there are nuances in the English language that they may not quite pick up.

These may seem insignificant for you but having a native speaker write your content is the better way to go.

If it’s an English-based task, stick with people from your home country. For tasks that require a native tongue, you can outsource through or even, if you just need single or very simple tasks done.

Most blogs on this website have been outsourced to a content agency.

The agency grabs my YouTube videos, transcribes them and turns them into blog posts.

If your good at building WordPress sites but need copy for your sales funnel, this one is tough….

You can hire a copywriter, but in spending over 15k in copywriting I now choose to keep sales copy in house.

Learn it from the top copywriting books, or get copywriting templates to give you a successful formula to start writing copy from.

Where You Can Find Qualified Individuals For Outsourced Work

You can easily find talented people in the Philippines or India and not have to worry about the language or cultural difference.

The language of coding is the same no matter where you are in the world.

Skills in graphic design do not require proficiency in English unless you also require your graphic designer to create content.

You can find cheap virtual assistants on a number of platforms if you’re outsourcing to India or the Philippines but there are certain jobs that I recommend you hire from within your own country (discussed below).

Full-Time or Part-Time?

Aside from choosing the right person, you need to decide between hiring a full-time, part-time or per-project contractor.

If you want to hire a contractor to do one or two projects at a time, you have that ability. You don’t have to hire a full or part-time employee for simple jobs.

Going back to, you can hire freelancers to work 10 hours one week, zero the next and 20hrs the following week. You pay them after they complete the task and there’s no commitment to hiring them on a per hour basis.

It really depends on what you’re needing. If you're following the really simple affiliate marketing funnel, for example, there are only a few pages that need to get done so evaluating what kinds of tasks you need will prevent you from overshooting and hiring someone for more hours than you actually need.

Why Outsource? Know What You Need to Outsource and Why

It really all comes down to knowing yourself and figuring you out.

Focus on your skills, what you’re great at, then do it.

Hire out the other things you’re not excellent at. Whatever your needs are, outsourcing to good people will grow your business.

But if you don’t have a budget to outsource, then you roll up your sleeves and do it the way I did it when my wife and I started our business. Keep your knuckles to the grindstones, burn the midnight oil, hustle, hustle, hustle.

Stay committed, keep going, and do what you got to do.

Once you get some leverage and start making some money, make strategic outsourcing a part of your game plan. This is the way to go full speed ahead on your business.
