The #1 Most Important Success Skill...

success skillsDo you know what the number one thing that is required for becoming successful with an online business or in any business?

It probably isn't what your thinking.

If you ask 10 'experts' what is required for becoming successful in business online, you'd probably get 11 different answers.

Most of the 'gurus' are going to explain how you first require a niche and then a website.

There are others who will tell you that first priority of yours should be to build your opt-in list.

There are still others who’ll tell you that offering a service or product of your own must come first. “You are 1 skill away” they'll say.

The truth is that in order to grow your own successful business online, you will need all these things and more. But, the one item related to success that outranks them all in priority and importance is “stick-to-it-ive-ness”

Knowing 'why' you are building your business is where your energy to stick to it through the challenging times.

Heard of the phrase before? I was thinking I made it up, until I looked at dictionary.com and there was actually a definition for it.

So much for originality.

Dictionary.com's definition of sticktoitiveness is “Dogged perseverance” or “Resolute tenacity” -but I think the word itself sums it up best.

Here is my definition.... 'Your ability to stick to your plan and goals through the ups, downs and through the trial and error required to achieve success'

This truly is where most people fail.

They will get excited about internet marketing, buy a few courses, get hosting, try a couple things and after no results in their first 20 days, they throw their hands up and say something like “This stuff doesn't work”

lol. As Henry Ford said... “If you think you can or you think you can't, your right!”

Most people think that there is a magical combination of ingredients, factors and elements that will make them 'an overnight success' but realistically, it is years of hard work and shear persistence that lead up to a 'tipping point' where the benefits outweigh the effort required.

Most people never reach this point... They quit too soon because it feels like too much work.

Napoleon Hill does a great job at illustrating the benefits of 'Stick-to-it-ive-ness' and the detriment found in quitting before you achieve your goals in his book “Think and Grow Rich”.

I'll do my best to paraphrase the story, here.

In the gold rush days, a man from the mid-west named Darby caught the gold bug.

He moved to Colorado to stake his claim with pick and shovel in hand. At first, the work was hard, but he was so excited from being bit by the gold bug, that he persevered.

After weeks and weeks of back-breaking effort, he had hit a patch of glittering ore that absolutely had gold. He could 'feel' that he was on to something, so he covered his mine, went back to his hometown with stories of his find and raised the money needed to properly mine what he had found in Colorado.

With friends, relatives and neighbors funding his way, he returned to Colorado to 'work his mine'.

After the first load of raw ore was sent to the processor, the results returned and he indeed was sitting on one of the richest mines in Colorado.

Full speed ahead they went and they began to scale their efforts, drilling deeper and deeper at a fever pitch, but the vein of gold quickly disappeared.

Soon they were pulling up bucket after bucket of worthless dirt.

Finally, he decided to quit.

He sold the machinery and his claim to a 'junk collector' and returned home.

The junk collector decided to call in an expert in the form of a mining engineer to look at the mine and do some calculating. The engineer advised that the owners didn't understand the local fault lines and his calculations showed that the vein that Darby had lost would be found just THREE FEET AWAY!?!

And indeed, that is exactly where it was found.

The 'Junk collector' ended up pulling MILLIONS of dollars from the mine when most of the initial effort and overhead was handled by Darby... While Darby had to start all over again, from scratch.

Do you find yourself starting and re-starting from scratch, time and time again?

Have you tapped into the power of stick-to-it-ive-ness in your business, yet?

You know, they say it takes 10 years to become an overnight success and the truly successful entrepreneurs in our world 'get it'.

Be sure you are in it for the long haul and when you feel like you just can't keep going... Just take one more step.

Then... Take one more.

Then another.

Each step brings you closer and closer to your ultimate goal of financial and lifestyle freedom... Which is truly attainable for you, if you just stick with it, long enough.
Remember, nothing worth-while comes easy.

...And, if it were easy, everyone would do it. 😉

Cultivate your stick-to-it-ive-ness because it is ultimately your greatest asset!
