The 1 BIG Thing About Success - Miles Beckler

The 1 BIG Thing About Success

The true "One Big Thing" about success is that success is a million little things done right.

Now, before you shrug this off as too simple or confusing...

Lemme tie this in to the past emails you've received this week to paint a crystal clear picture for you.

Because once you 'get it' you can make massive progress forwards towards your goal confidently

Instead of searching around for that 'one thing' that just doesn't exist.

First off... the flaw of the "One Big Thing" mindset...

This is what the fake gurus have been training you is the truth...

That their "Big Idea" or their "Unique Mechanism" is why "It's different this time"...

In order to sell you their $997 course about XYZ-Method they must persuade you that XYZ-Method is the ONE AND ONLY THING between you and the income you desire.

If they were being truthful that XYZ-Method is "an important piece of the puzzle, but it is one piece out of a million"

They'd never make a sale...

They'd have to give up their Lamborghini's and mansions...

Because you'd realize the TRUTH that every webinar is just selling a TINY component in a HUGE system at stupid prices.

The funnel folks say you are one funnel away...

The Facebook ad people say the funnel doesn't matter it's the ad...

The copywriting teachers preach that it is the copy, not the ad campaign or funnel...

Get my point?

Ok, perspective established...

Lemme paint a quick story of how this plays out...

Here it is Sunday morning...

I'm in Mexico and the sun is shining and the tourists are all scurrying to the various "adventures" around...

Melanie and I?

We've spent the first 3 hours of our day changing dozens of tiny things.

Melanie is in an old post of hers she is about to mail, updating it and optimizing it better for the search engines (new heading tags, title tags and Pinterest pins)...

Me, I've been in my email list tweaking a tiny setting in over a dozen emails to improve deliver-ability...

Jumped in my inner circle forums and posted up a dozen or so messages to students...

Hopped on YouTube to do some commenting...

Then I jumped into my keyword tool and have been optimizing a post of mine that is in the #8 spot, to increase it's ranking.

This required me to analyze the sites that outrank me to see how many words / headings / etc they have so I can beat them at their own game.

This is what I mean when I say that the ONE BIG THING is a million little things.

At a 'big picture' perspective, this idea frees you from thinking there is some 'method' or 'business model' out there that is 'better' than the rest.

Right?

Because, you now know it's not one big thing!

It's not this niche vs. that niche... They all can work

It's not this tool vs. that tool... People achieve success with both

It's not dropshipping vs. affiliate marketing... Completely IRRELEVANT!

It's not that guru method that they make sound like MAGIC! They just have a house payment and super-car payment to make...

And the fake gurus NEED YOUR MONEY!

What it IS about is the 1000 videos or podcasts or blog posts you create for your audience...

YES... I said 1000 videos.

The 90 day (or week) challenge is just the START...

It is about the thousands of times you get into the keyword tool to understand the search volume and INTENT behind their searches.

It is about re-visiting hundreds of your old posts from last month and last year to think critically about why they are (or aren't) ranking.

It is about observing the THOUSANDS of pages that outrank you for your 1000 posts and critically thinking...

"What has this page done that I haven't that gets Google to rank them better?"

And each one of these million little things takes TIME.

Which is why this path to creating a successful business online takes YEARS!

This is also why it is important to have a day job that supports your entrepreneurial habit (and covers rent/food/etc)...

So you can afford to stick it out through the YEARS and MILLIONS of tweaks.

Finally, all of this illustrates the ultimate power of getting a Virtual Assistant, developer, support teammates, etc.

Because buying their time and applying it to your list of a MILLION LITTLE THINGS helps you get through them all faster.

But often times, like this morning was for me...

I can't outsource this DEEP analysis and critical thinking...

And sometimes it is easier to make those dozen tweaks than it is to create trainings and pass them off...

Other times I just want it done NOW so I can move on to the next bricks that belong on top of those.

So here I am...

Typing away at my kitchen table in an air bnb with an ocean view out the window...

Putting in my time... Paying my dues!

Because my posts aren't quite ranking where I think they should be, yet.

And I'll chisel away at a dozen or a hundred little things on my list of millions, today...

Then I'll head out and get some tacos and an agua fresca... 😉

Followed by coming right back here again to spend another few hours to get another hundred or two things done today...

Brick by brick, my skyscraper takes shape...

Brick by brick, my skyscraper gets taller...

I'm not watching videos of others promoting their 'skyscraper hacks' or 'skyscraper shortcuts'...

LOL.

I'm not watching webinars hyping "You are ONE BRICK AWAY!"

I'm here getting my hands dirty on a Sunday building my skyscraper...

Laying bricks...

Analyzing my last rows of bricks...

And laying more bricks...

Every day... 7 Days per week this is how I roll....

BECAUSE I WANT IT THAT BAD!

And I've been carrying this pace for 2.5 years on my brand and 10 years on Melanie's brand.

That is about 912 days of laying bricks on my brand...

And 3,650+ days on Melanie's brand.

So there it is...

The "One Big Thing" demystified...

The 'fake guru' and 'digital nomad' hype called out...

The truth revealed.

This shit takes WORK to get the millions of little things figured out for one site, one brand and one audience.

And you're either doing the work day in, day out...

Week in, week out...

Month in, month out...

Year in and year out....

Or you're not.

I invite you to join Melanie and I (and the thousands of other students like you) in doing the work every day...

It isn't as scary as it seems...

Sure, looking up at a skyscraper someone else has been working on for 10 years is daunting...

When you haven't laid your first brick... But there is no time like the present to get started.

And it can be quite fun when you get some tunes rocking and you are focusing all your energy helping others.

Sometimes you just gotta start moving forward.

😉
