“All you need is one great opt-in offer and one great product/service offer and you have what you need to earn $10k/mo and more!”
Once you have chosen your niche and the audience you want to be of service to, you will need to prove to your audience that you can help them achieve their goals or fix their problems.
You must deliver results in advance through the content you publish.
There is always a free level of content that you use to capture the attention of your audience.
For me, that is my YouTube videos and this blog here… For my wife it is her blog posts…
But you need to have a mechanism to offer your audience the opportunity to ‘go deeper' with your teaching, training, coaching, etc.
You do this through email marketing!
This may very well be the most important content you will publish and it consists of two irresistible offers.
The first irresistible offer is your free offer, it is a free piece of content you will give away in exchange for an email address.
This course here is what I came up with…
Your Free Irresistible Offer
Creating your free irresistible offer is the first step in growing your email list… And your email list is the most valuable asset of your Internet-based business.
If your subscribers don’t find your offer to be irresistible or they don’t believe that you can assist them in achieving their goals or solving their problems, your side hustle will never get off the ground.
For our meditation niche business built around my wife's personal brand, we give away a free MP3 meditation that we used to sell for $17.
Our goals here are twofold:
Number one, to offer enough value that our visitors are compelled to enter their email address and subscribe for the free item.
Number two, to deliver an eye-opening first experience with our meditations that proves to the subscriber that our products and content can give them powerfully positive experiences.
Just like how I'm focused on giving you even more value through this free course.
Instead of selling this course for $47— which I could easily have done! — I decided instead to focus solely on helping you get your side hustle off the ground so you can begin generating income fast.
The key observation for you here is that on both platforms, our focus is in putting our audience’s needs, goals and desires, first…
Every successful online business is built in this manner and you will need to put your audience’s needs first, too!
Your free offer may very well be the most important part of your online business because it is the first opportunity to prove to your audience that you can help them to achieve their goals or solve their problems.
If they don’t believe you can help them, they will never purchase anything from you in the future!
This video explains in depth what makes a great free offer:
And this video shares a powerful framework you can use to create a giveaway with a high perceived value and a strong likelihood of producing powerful results for your subscribers:
Here are a couple of key items to keep in mind regarding your free offer:
- Your free offer should at least get them on the path to solving their biggest and most painful problem.
- Best when it solves 1 urgent problem or helps them overcome a very specific challenge they've been ‘stuck' on.
- The free offers should gives them an experience of your teaching style and expertise.
- It can be a written PDF report, an audio-based item, or video training.
- Your free offer must be 100% unique to you and something that you have created yourself.
Your Paid Irresistible Offer
Your second irresistible offer is your first paid offer.
We will cover how to create the page that delivers this offer (and your free offer above) soon, but first, you need to understand the philosophy behind your second irresistible offer.
The second offer needs to solve the next most logical problem your audience will face after they have solved a problem with your free item.
Stated another way, your paid offer shouldn’t simply give them more of the same.
Psychologically, your audience feels that they have solved the first problem when they opted in for your free offer.
They have “scratched the proverbial itch,” and their thought process moves on to, “Okay, now that the problem is solved… What’s next?”
Your first paid product, which answers that next most logical question, is the key to high conversions and quick cash flow with your online business.
This next most logical question will vary based on your niche and your audience.
It may be a totally new problem they are faced with, or it may be the problem of not having enough time to solve the problem themselves.
Here are a couple quick examples…
If I was giving away a free report on “How to run successful Facebook Ads” and the report truly solved that problem for them, I could offer a “5 Profitable Funnels for Facebook Ads” product for $27 as my second offer.
My sales pitch would simply explain how “Facebook ads are only half the battle and the other half you need to figure out is a high converting funnel.”
Because, if you are running Facebook ads and you aren't making sales the next most logical problem is that your funnel isn't converting!
Notice… I did not offer more “Facebook Ads” content for the second offer because they already ‘solved' that problem by opting in for the first offer.
Another second offer I could test after a Facebook ads opt in, would be a “Done for you Facebook ads service” where they can hire me to setup and manage their Facebook advertising for them.
My sales pitch for this would focus on how much time and energy it takes to setup, manage and test Facebook ads and the ‘solution’ would be my help in the form of hourly or monthly services.
In this second example, they opt in for the Facebook ads knowledge but the ‘next problem' is the amount of time and energy it takes to master Facebook ads…
Hence my offer to do the work for them.
These are just two quick examples to show you the thought process behind figuring out what your first paid offer should be.
You will learn how to test these ideas to know for sure which converts best in a future section…
But for now, you understand the two approaches to position your first paid offer in a way that has the highest likelihood of converting visitors into customers.
Another important concept here is that you do not have to create your first paid offer or this paid product yourself.
You can leverage affiliate marketing and partner with vendors who have high-quality products that will solve your audience’s needs.
This is not only the fastest way to start earning income online, but it removes the challenge of writing great sales copy from your shoulders!
To make sure you understand exactly how to do affiliate marketing the right way, I put together this free class for you, below:
Affiliate marketing works best when you recommend products you personally use and have personally experienced great results with.
The simplest explanation is that you earn a commission every time you recommend these products and your audience buys them.
All you are required to do is link to the affiliate sales page, and the checkout process, sales copy, product delivery and customer support will be handled for you…
This is my approach I use with my entire personal brand. I show you exactly what needs to be done through free content and teachings, and I then recommend a few essential tools you need to accomplish the required steps.
Less than 10% of my videos have affiliate links in them, so they are well timed, well placed and mixed in with LOTS of free valuable content.
This was my entire monetization plan and it started generating over $10,000 per month in additional revenue within the first year.
For our meditation business, our ‘second offer' is a pack of our best selling meditations (discounted over 50% off) for individuals who want to go deeper with their meditation practice.
These are 100% unique meditations that we have created ourselves, and we manage the entire checkout and product delivery process.
Creating your own product is great for positioning, but it can take a ton of time. And at this phase, speed of implementation is key.
You can begin with a great affiliate product to get started quickly, and then once you have proven that you can convert traffic to leads and leads to sales, you can create an irresistible paid product of your own…
Then, when you replace the affiliate product with your offer, you will increase your margins and profit.
It is important to remember that there are many different products and services you can offer as your first free and second paid irresistible offer such as:
- Coaching – One-on-one or small group.
- Consulting – Special offer on a discovery call or hourly sessions.
- Information products – Online course, audio/video training, or modulated course.
- Done-for-you services – Design, development or marketing services.
- Membership program – Ongoing training, webinars, question-and-answer sessions, facebook or forum group access
One of the challenges in selling your own products is the skill of copywriting.
Simply stated, the words on your sales page… Your headline… Your bullet points, your hook, your offer, etc. are your ultimate make or break!
If your sales copy works, you'll make sales.
If your sales copy sucks, you won't make sales.
So when you start to sell your own products, you MUST become a student of copywriting!
From the ads you write to the headlienes on your opt in pages…
The emails you send to promote your courses to the sales letters that actually sell your courses or membership…
Copywriting is the #1 key to you selling your products and making big-time money online.
But there's a problem…
And I'm going to be perfectly honest and a little bit blunt here…
Copywriting SUCKS!
Not only is it the most difficult part of the job being an Internet entrepreneur, but it's also the most important… And it takes years to learn how to write great sales copy.
There has to be a copywriting short-cut, right?
I've tried hiring copywriters from job boards and copy groups and have been scammed out of over $12,000 once… Several other times I've received rubbish copy that didn't convert.
I do recommend being a student of copywriting, but right now, YOU need a solution that will get you cranking out sales copy (and ad copy) that can make sales for you, FAST!
These top 2 options below are the only 2 resources I know of that can actually help you as a new copywriter to get the sales letter copy and ad copy you need in hours, not months.
- Sales Letter Templates – https://www.milesbeckler.com/salescopy
- Copywriting Software – https://www.milesbeckler.com/copy-software
Now, the sales letter templates are what I used to create my sales letter for my membership program that generated over $250,000.
These templates are great if you have a product, course or membership that you're ready to start selling immediately.
If you don't yet have an audience of people hungry for what you have and an offer ready for sales copy… The sales copy template are not needed yet.
That said, having actual templates that you can copy/paste and edit to your heart's desire is the FASTEST way I've found to put up a sales letter that converts, hands down.
Learn more about the sales letter templates here.
The second option is the copywriting software.
How can software write copy?
Well it can't… Any promises out there of “Artificial Intelligence” writing good copy is a load of baloney.
This particular software is a giant database of “copy blocks” written by a professional copywriter… so the copy in the software is structured based on the hundreds of proven copywriting formulas from all the great copywriters who I personally study to this day…
You are asked a series of questions about your audience, your product, their challenges, their desires…
Then the copywriting software mixes your answers with the professional copy to generate several copywriting drafts you can choose from.
To get an understanding about how Copywriting software works, click here and test out their free headline software (no opt in required)
for most new marketers, this is the best solution because it will help you create a wider variety of high converting copy…
From your headlines and opt in pages…
To your Facebook ads and Google ads…
And of course your sales letters, your video sales letters and your webinar scripts.
If you were ready to invest in one copywriting tool in order to start driving more sales, today I highly recommend this copyrighting software
Back-end offers
It has been said that “rookie marketers focus on the front-end offers, whereas professional marketers focus on the back-end.”
For several years my wife and I ran a very simple business that offered something for free followed by a downloadable product for sale, just as I explained in the two steps above.
In the last couple of years, we began adding one-click up-sells, bump offers, and other back-end offerings to our current customers.
The result has been a dramatic increase in revenue and a significant boost in our advertising budget, allowing me to spend more on advertising to generate even more leads and customers.
You don’t need to build out your back-end offers now, but to build a successful business online, you will want to have additional offerings for your best customers.
These items will help them solve even more problems and ultimately increase your lifetime customer value.
A great example of a back-end offer would be an offer for ongoing monthly coaching added onto a six-week course.
Another super simple example is this: If you’re selling how-to information as your first paid offer you could then recommending or sell a software application to automate the process as your up-sell.
It is common knowledge in the sales and advertising world that it costs more to get a new customer than it does to make an additional sale to your current customer base.
If you don’t have any customers yet, obviously this is not applicable. It is, however, something to keep in mind as your business grows and develops.
Again, these can be products you create, products from partners, or affiliate products.
The ‘big key' from this section is that you need 2 great offers to really grow a successful business online.
First is your opt-in offer… Second is at least 1 core product offering whether yours or something you promote as an affiliate.
Next up, we'll talk about presenting these offers from your 2 core web pages.
